Cameroonians Invent ‘Sukuloo’ For Parents To Monitor Students

Sukuloo (meaning school in several local languages in Cameroon), is a school monitoring platform developed by the Cameroonian startups Infosys Group. According to its promoters, with Sukuloo, the educational community and parents now have a tool through which they can interact to combat “failure and dropping out.”

Sukuloo allows parents to have, in real time via the Internet, the different scores obtained by their children at school; growth curve of students in different subjects; the number of hours absent in courses; details on all the homework at home; instant alerts about new ratings, delays, absences and homework; or discuss directly with school officials on student behavior, among others.

In areas with no Internet connection, the information may be communicated to parents via SMS, as well as telephone calls can be made to them in case of emergency, through the call centre set up by promoters of Sukuloo.

Finalist of the first edition of the Challenge Startupper Total Cameroon with Sukuloo platform, Infosys Group, deploys this tool in schools and training staff in its use.
